Anthony Frank Ali

Anthony F. Ali passed away on June 6 in Hagerstown, MD after a brief illness. He was 84.

Survivors include three sons, Thomas , Palm Beach, FL., Jonathan , Washington, DC, MD, and Christopher. He is survived by six grandchildren, Timothy, Kathleen, Michael, and Ryan of FL., and Isabel and Caroline, Washington, MD. Survivors also include a brother Frank and a sister Jessica.

Anthony was born in Elizabeth, NJ on May 25 1927. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1961. Anthony graduated Thomas Jefferson High School, Elizabeth, NJ and attended Newark College of Engineering. Following school, he joined his brother Salvatore at Ali-Turtur Construction which later became Ali Construction where he became CFO and VP. From the late 40â??s into the 70â??s Ali Construction built hundreds of schools, banks, and municipal buildings in New Jersey.

In the 70â??s, Anthony formed Ali Construction Inc., in Elizabeth, NJ with his brothers James and Joseph. Buildings erected over decades included the Union County Court House Annex, Hudson County News, St. Anthonyâ??s Rectory, Clark Municipal Building, and the Cranford Nursing Home.

Anthony retired to Jupiter, Fl. with his beloved wife Ann in 1994 until her passing in 2001. Anthony spent his final years in Maryland enjoying his grandchildren.
