Arthur "Archie" Francis Schminkey

Arthur “Archie” Francis Schminkey passed away on October 7, 2025. Born on February 8, 1945, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Charles Schminkey and Amelia (Saboy) Schminkey.

In addition to his parents, Archie was preceded in death by his son, Douglas B. Schminkey; brothers, Maurice “Mark” Stewart, and Kenneth Fultz; and step-great grandson Ryett Jones.

He was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School, then went on to a career as a distribution supervisor at the Herald Mail. He was a member of Wayside Baptist Church and enjoyed photography as a hobby.

Archie is survived by his wife of 27 years, Lynda L. (Webb) Schminkey; son, Eric Schminkey; step-children, Richard Hopkins, Kari Carbaugh, Keli Hoffman, and Kami Hoffman; sibling, Jan Fultz; grandchildren & step-grandchildren, Douglas, Ryan, Brittney, Codey, Casey, Krystal, Zachery, Alexis, Eric, and Faith; step-great grandchildren, Ivy, Logan, Madalyn, and Kane.

A Memorial Service will be Friday, Oct 24th at 11:00am at Wayside Baptist Church, 21303 Leiter St., Hagerstown, MD.
