Barbara Jean Snook

Barbara Jean Snook, 81, of Boonsboro, Maryland, and loving wife of Carl Henry Snook for 59 years, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, to be with the Lord at South Mountain Rehab.

Born May 31, 1943, in Laurens, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Edgar E. Rankin and Lena Durst Rankin. She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Catherine R. Ashe, Nancy R. Thomas, and Juanita R. Humphres, whom she loved dearly.Barbara was employed with the Board of Education for 26 years until her retirement. She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church where she was surrounded by friends and family.

Remaining to cherish Barbara’s memory are her daughter, Denise M. Kelly and husband, Brian R. Kelly; granddaughter, Leana M. Kelly; brother, Charles E. Rankin and wife Evelyn; brother-in-law, Cameron Ashe, and James Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD, with Pastor Regina Beard officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour before services from 12:00-1:00 p.m.
