Bernard Joseph Wenner, Jr., 80, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away, peacefully, Thursday, December 15, 2022, at his home.
Born in Baltimore, Md. on March 24, 1942, he was the son of the late, Bernard J. Wenner, Sr. and Florence R. (Johnson) Wenner. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by his fiancé, Rose Black.
Mr. Wenner was a 1961 graduate of Edmondson High School, Baltimore and received a certificate in architectural design at the Maryland Institute Market Place School in 1963.
He retired after 30 years of service as an assistant group lead surveyor for the Maryland Department of Transportation, State Highway Administration, Baltimore and after retirement he enjoyed working as a security guard at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, Hagerstown.
Mr. Wenner was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, and the Tri State Modelers Club. He was an avid sports car collector and enjoyed showing them at car shows; he also was a past president of the Tri State Singles Connection and Dance Club.
Mr. Wenner is survived by his son, Bernard J. Wenner, III and wife, Donna; three granddaughters, Alyssa, Lauren and Kaitlyn Wenner and special friends and caretakers, John and Bonnie Ridenour.
At Mr. Wenner's request he will be cremated, and a graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Terry Culler officiating.
