Charles E. "Dick" Gladhill

Charles Edward "Dick" Gladhill, 94, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away, Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at his home.
Born February 9, 1928 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, William Russell Gladhill, Sr. and Leoda Eileen (Strock) Gladhill. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia Pauline (Harkarder) Gladhill; a son, Kerry S. Gladhill and a brother, William R. Gladhill, Jr.
Dick was a U.S. Army veteran and retired with 39 years of service as a general laborer with the Western Maryland Railroad.
He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Hagerstown, loved the Lord, loved to sing and had many friends.
Dick is survived by one son, Dennis R. Gladhill, Sr.; four grandchildren, Dennis R. Gladhill, Jr. (Kathy), Shelly Ann Moats, Chad A.Gladhill (Annamarie) and Alexandra Noel Dice (Cameron); eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave.,Hagerstown with Pastor James Moore officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
