Charlie was employed at Victor Products, Canteen Vending Company, and was co-owner of the Nibble Nook Confectionary on Salem Avenue in Hagerstown.

An avid sports fan, during this time he sponsored teams at the Superior and West End Little Leagues.  He also coached the F.O.P. team at the Superior Little League and the Steelers team of the Washington County Football League.  For many years, he enjoyed playing golf and was a devoted fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Redskins.
