Charles E. "Chuck" Saunders, III, 55, of Hagerstown, passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 at Doey's House.
Born February 18, 1964 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Esther (Long) and Charles E. Saunders, II.
Chuck worked for the Washington County Board of Education as a custodial engineer for 33 years.
He loved and supported the Gettysburg Battlefield Bash. He was a volunteer and strongly believed in their mission. Chuck was the founder of 4 State Ghost Society.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Dixie L. (Reichert) Saunders; two daughters, Jennifer Immer and husband Garrett of Summerville, S.C., Dee Maloy and fianc Nick of Chambersburg; a granddaughter, Ariel Immer of Summerville, SC.; a brother, Chris Saunders and wife Sherry; two sisters, Lisa Saunders and Laurie Blickenstaff; a sister-in-law, Teresa Boyd and husband Del; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; and too many friends that are like family to mention.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor James Gross officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
There will be a viewing from 6-8pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Please dress casual.
