David C. Potts, 77, of Hagerstown, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019 at his home.
Born May 27, 1942, he was the son of the late Charles and Frances Potts of Funkstown.
He was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School, class of 1960.
Mr. Potts served in the United States Marine Corps in the 1960s.
He married his loving wife in Feb. 1961, the late Veneta (Holmes) Potts, who died Aug. 2019. They were married for 58 years.
He was a member of Sharpsburg Bible Church and the American Legion.
Mr. Potts retired from Mack Truck, where he worked for 30 years.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by two sons, Phillip and James Potts.
He is survived by two sons, Sonny and wife Debbie Potts of Florida, and Mark Potts of North Carolina; grandsons, Michael and Jeremy Potts of N.C. and Zack and Nathan Potts of Hagerstown; and caring sister-in-law, Linda May and sons.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Martinsburg VA Center or to Hospice of Washington County.
