Dolores Elaine (Myers) Smith, 92, of Hagerstown, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Doey's House, while surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 22, 1927 in Smithsburg, she was the daughter of the late David Lee and Catherine Mae (Bayer) Myers.
Dolores grew up in Ringgold, Maryland. She was a 1944 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
She worked as a clerk and typist for Statton Furniture for 19 years.
Dolores was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church; AARP Ch. 623; Women of the Moose; Funkstown American Legion Post 211 Ladies Auxiliary; and the Pocahontas Red Feather Council 59.
She enjoyed bingo, gardening, bowling, crafting, camping and casino trips.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harrison Llewellyn Smith, Sr.; a son, Timothy W. Stevens; a stepdaughter, Vicki Smith; a stepson, Harrison Smith, Jr.; two brothers, Harold and Donnie; and two sisters, Carolyn and Maryanne. Dolores was the last survivor of her immediate family.
She is survived by son, Ronald E. Stevens; three daughters, Judith E. Wade and husband Bill, Hazel "Mae" Rexrode and husband Pete, Mary Beth Schaeffer and husband Troy; two stepdaughters, Linda L. Templon and husband George, Carol A. Ambrose-Leahy and husband Mark; ten grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two step great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received on Friday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dolores's name to Hospice of Washington County.
