Donald Lewis Stahl

Donald Lewis Stahl, 93, of Oak Ridge, Hagerstown, Maryland., passed away, Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at VIVA Senior Living, Hagerstown.

Born Friday, February 13, 1932, he was the son of the late Fred James Stahl and Elda K. Hunsberger Stahl. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by a brother, Richard F. Stahl.

He attended Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, Virginia from 1947-1949. He was a member of the 1951 class of Greencastle Antrim High School in Greencastle, Pennsylvania.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955 aboard the USS Newport News Cruiser #148 during the Korean War.

He was in business for 21 years with his parents, Fred and Elda Stahl, previous owners for 25 years of the Dutch Kitchen in Hagerstown, Maryland. He also worked at Fairchild Aircraft which became Rohr Industries until his retirement in 1995.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Pompell Stahl; stepson, Robert Scott Myerly, Jr. and wife Darlene of El Paso, TX as well as step grandsons, Derek A. Myerly and wife, Whitney of Firestone, CO and Sean M. Myerly and wife Rachael of Houston, TX; step great grandchildren, Mason, Owen and Claire Myerly; a sister, Linda Stahl Nye of Hagerstown, MD and nieces and nephews.

He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge #378, a member of the American Legion Post 42, VFW and the Korean War Veterans Association.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave.,
