Dorothy Estella Bennett

Dorothy Estella Bennett, 85, of Hagerstown, passed away, Monday, June 3, 2019 at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland.
Born August 12, 1933 in Hagerstown she was the daughter of the late, Joseph and Minnie (Smith) Lizor. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Dean Bennett and two sisters, Janet Harnish and Patricia Staubs.
Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hagerstown; The Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Holy Family of St. Joseph #2245 and the Monday and Wednesday morning Duck Pin Bowling League at Turner's Lanes.
Dorothy is survived by five children, Deborah Powell of Virginia Beach, Va., Ronald Bennett and wife, Kim of Longs, SC, Kevin Bennett and wife, Brenda, Stephanie Boone and Deana Douglas and husband, Bryan, all of Hagerstown; four siblings, Monsignor Joseph Lizor, Jr. of Ellicott City,Md., William "Billy" Lizor of Sykesville, Md., Elizabeth Dayhoff and Margaret Lewis both of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 17630 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown with Monsignor Joseph Lizor, Jr. as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, June 12th from 7-9 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown where a Christian Wake service will be conducted at 7:30 P.M.
