Born in Baltimore, MD on February 21, 1949. He was the son of the late Dr. Arthur Maynard Bacon Jr. and Margaret Kerin Bacon. He was preceded in death by his brother, Greg.

He is survived by his high school sweet heart and wife of 49 years, Barbara. His son, Dr. Allan T. Bacon III and wife Beth of Maui, Hawaii; daughter, Dr. Jessica Bacon-Owen and husband Dr. Tim Owen of Sykesville, MD; daughter, Dr. Brenna Bacon Ranieli and husband Dr. Matthew Ranieli of Hagerstown, MD; granddaughters, Sadie and Emelyn Owen and grandson, Rex Ranieli; brother, Maynard Bacon and wife Jane of Lancaster, PA and brother, Bruce Bacon of Hagerstown, MD.

Dr. Bacon returned to Hagerstown in 1975 to work and shortly thereafter established his own family dental practice. He loved being a dentist and considered both his staff and his patients to be friends and family. His mantra was: Family, Friends, and Faith. He did everything he could throughout his life to support the ones he loved. He never passed on the opportunity to share crabs, wings, or beverages with good company.
He enjoyed sports, cars, gardening, pets, golf, swimming, the theater, clocks that he found so comforting and feeding natural wildlife in the beauty of his backyard. These poor squirrels are going to have to learn to fend for themselves. His favorite places were the beach, home and any gathering of friends, particularly spending quality time on holidays with his family.

He was involved in the community through various charitable organizations and sports leagues too numerous to mention.

Services and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be conducted at a later date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, take this opportunity to spend time with the ones you love and hold dearest.
