Edwin L. Wisherd, 90, of Hagerstown, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2022, after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was loved by many and will sorely be missed by all who knew him.

Born on April 14, 1932, in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of Emma C. (Worthington) Wisherd and Joseph Eavey Wisherd. Ed grew up in Hagerstown and attended Winter Street School, Washington Street School and graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1951.

Ed very proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1955. The next day he applied for a job at Jamison Door Company in Hagerstown and was hired on the spot. Ed was very handy with tools and was able to fix or repair almost anything. He loved his children and grandson with all his heart and was always available when needed. He had a soft heart for stray cats and fed any and all who somehow seemed to find his home. He was very active and always on the go sharing his love of life and smile with everyone. He loved to play golf with his son and they enjoyed time on the course every Monday year round together. He also enjoyed family gatherings and playing a variety of games with family.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife of 56 years, Nancy Kay Wisherd and his sister Doris Brumbaugh and brothers, Stuart Wisherd and Donald Wisherd.
