Fred Leroy Jacobs

Fred Leroy Jacobs, 93, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2023 at Doeys House in Hagerstown. 

Born on December 11, 1929, in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Amon Jacobs and Martha (Miller) Jacobs. Fred was a veteran of the United States Air Force, proudly having served his country. He worked for Mack Truck (Volvo) for more than 30 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Morris-Frock American Legion in Hagerstown.

Fred is survived by his children, Paula Matson, Bonnie Giffin ("Bud") and Dianne Jacobs; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; and his brother, Charles Jacobs; daughter-in-law, Karen Jacobs; sister-in-law, Phyllis Jacobs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Jacobs; son, Fred Jacobs Jr., daughter, Janet Burkey; and his siblings, Mary Jacobs, Ralph Jacobs and Louise Salisbury.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 1pm at Rest Haven Cemetery Mausoleum, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
