Gary Layman Harbaugh

Gary Layman Harbaugh, Sr., 84, of Hagerstown, passed away, Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Meritus Medical Center.
Born October 17, 1935 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, Roy and Winifred C. (Kline) Harbaugh.
Mr. Harbaugh was a US Air Force veteran and retired from the Hagerstown City Police Department. He also had worked at the Washington County Court House as a bailiff and in security.
He was a member of the Crossroads Church, State Line, Pa. ; F.O.P., Thomas Pangborn Lodge 88, Hagerstown, American Legion Post 211, Funkstown, life member of the Fraternal Order of Elks, Aries 378, Hagerstown, Country Western Dance Association, AARP and the Tri State Ravens Nest #124, Hagerstown.
Mr. Harbaugh is survived by his wife, Cynthia A. "Cindy" (Stoner) Harbaugh; his golden retriever, Chloe; one daughter, Annette "Ann" Robinson and husband, Brian; one son, Gary L. Harbaugh,Jr. all of Hagerstown; two grandchildren, Brian Robinson and Daniel Robinson and wife, Meggan; three grandchildren, Dutch, Dandon and Daxton.
A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., with Pastor Walt Roberts officiating.
Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park where military honors will be accorded by the Maryland National Guard honor guard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Gary's name to Little Wonders Animal Rescue Inc., 11513 National Pike, Clear Spring, MD 21722
