Gary Leroy McGill, Sr.

Gary Leroy McGill, Sr.,age 78, passed away on July 12, 2025, in Hagerstown, MD. Born on July 20, 1946, he was preceded in death by his parents, Glendon and Shirley (Willman) McGill.

Gary forged a career as a correctional officer for the state of Maryland. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1969.

He was an alumnus of South Hagerstown HS, class of 1964, and attended Hagerstown Junior College.

Gary had a multitude of interests that reflected his vibrant personality. He loved his dogs and found peace in fishing and gardening. Additionally, he was an avid coin collector.

He is survived by his companion of 25 years, Nancy Thomas; son, Gary McGill, Jr. (Lauren); his sister, Linda Turnbull; grandchildren, Dylan, Brody, and Kelly McGill; and extended family, Donna and Kayla Johnson.

Gary Sr. will be missed and fondly remembered.
