Glenda Fay McCune-Mayes

Glenda Fay McCune-Mayes, 85, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024, at her home in Hagerstown, MD. Born October 13, 1938, she was the daughter of the late George C. Myers and Dorothea P. Daugherty.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles R. Mayes, Jr.; sister, Joan Moore; brother, James Myers; and brother-in-law, Lenny Barron.

Glenda was an active member of ARIC and a woman of Christian faith. She and her husband, Charles, co-owned and operated Charlie Mayes Septic & Port-A-Pot Service. Glenda loved her family dearly.

Glenda is survived by her daughters, Dena M. Anderson, Charlotte Rudisill (Mike), Wendy Manford (Leslie “Casper”), and Lisa Breeden; sisters, Loretta Barron, and Teresa Lake-Vitt (Michael); ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral service for Glenda will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation two hours prior at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 17636 W. Washington Street Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.
