Glenn W. Eccard Jr., 83, Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away at Leland of Laurel assisted living facility in Waynesboro, PA. He was the beloved husband of Valerie Mullenix Eccard for 35 years. 
Born on October 4, 1939, at home in Chewsville, Maryland he was the oldest son of 13 children born to Glenn Sr. and Genevieve Eccard. Glenn was a 1957 graduate of Smithsburg High School and upon graduation worked for his uncle Bob for several years in construction. He then began a career with Landis Machine Company as a carpenter where he worked for 39 years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and never met a stranger. Being social came naturally to Glenn and he often would help friends, family and strangers undertake projects at their home becoming well known as “Mr. Fix It.” He was an extremely devoted member Bethel United Methodist Church, attending 30 years straight without missing a Sunday and helping with various tasks around the church, his favorite was being a greeter. 
He is survived by his siblings, Catherine Bruce, William Eccard, Mollie Smith, Rachel Clever, Henry Eccard, Richard Eccard, Douglas Eccard, Donald Eccard and Julie Garske; his daughter, Lisa Marie Eccard and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Glenn Eccard III and his sisters, Mary Barrett, Louise Webber and Pauline Smith. 
The family will receive friends from 10-11am on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. Hagerstown, MD 21742. The funeral service will begin at 11am. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 21002 Twin Springs Dr. Smithsburg, MD 21783.
