Grace Marie Puffinberger

Grace Marie Puffinberger, 85, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Sunday, April 16, 2023 at her residence.

Born October 20, 1937 in Big Pool, MD, she was the daughter of the late Delbert "Jim" and Evelyn (Hovermale) Puffinberger. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by siblings, Anna Clingerman, Beverly Shipway, Robin Dolly, Theodore Puffinburger and Richard Puffinberger.

Grace resided at home in Little Orleans, MD with her parents until 1987 and afterward in Washington County Human Development Council managed group homes in the Hagerstown area for 36 years.

She enjoyed being with family and friends, receiving cards, letters and gifts. Grace was friends with everyone she met and could remember them. She enjoyed working on the home farm, especially tending to the animals and poultry. She spent much of her time coloring, listening to music and watching her favorite TV shows, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

Grace was employed for many years by the Washington County Human Development Council.

She is survived by her siblings, Donald Poffenberger of Lynn Haven, FL, and Charles (Betty) Puffinberger of Winchester, VA and brother-in-law Kenneth Dolly of Marietta, GA, thirteen nieces and nephews, thirteen great nieces and great nephews, several cousins and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.

Interment will follow in Piney Plains Methodist Church Cemetery, Little Orleans. Honorary pallbearers will be her beloved nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday one hour prior to the service.
