Helen Amy Churchey, 87, of Hagerstown, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 16, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born December 21, 1934 in Clear Spring, Md., she was the daughter of the late, Ethel Viola (McLucas) Whittington Llewellyn Walker Whittington. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Cecil C. Churchey on August 12, 1987 and three brothers, Robert L., William L. and Ray E. Whittington.
Mrs. Churchey retired from the Washington County Board of Education as a bus driver. She was a member of Grace Brethren Church now Cornerstone Community Church for 55 years, she worked in the children's ministry and day care for 11 years.
Mrs. Churchey is survived by four sons, Robert C. Churchey and wife, Mary Ann of Gettysburg, Pa., Richard F. Churchey and wife, Barbara of Waynesboro, Pa., Donald E. Churchey and wife, Vicki of Hagerstown and David A. Churchey and wife, Alley of Falling Waters, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Whittington of Hagerstown and Samuel Whittington of Greencastle, Pa.; five sisters, Dorothy Mongan of Hagerstown, Sandra Lewis of Maugansville, Md., Wanda Boyer of Hagerstown, Betty Rohrer of Williamsport, Md. and Jean Cunningham of W.Va.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Dean Pryor officiating.
Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday at 12 noon.
