It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Henry L. “Pete” Sines on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at MedStar Washington Hospital Center surrounded by his family at the age of 76.

Born on April 18, 1947 in Hagerstown MD, he was the son of the late Prentiss Leo Sines and the late Mary Catherine (Crabbs) Sines.
Henry graduated from NHHS with the class of 1965 and was an Army veteran serving in the Military Police in several European countries.
He worked at Doubleday & Company Inc. until the company plant closed, and as a custodian at WCPS and Grace Church before retiring. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #42. He was a lifetime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.

He is survived by his brother, Jeffrey L Sines (Donette), sister, Bonnie J Socks and sister, Robin K Harmison (Terry); Nieces and Nephews, Chris Sines, Jodi Austin (Dave), Tammy Fann (James), Sherry Mace (Todd), Brian Harmison (Brookes), Michael Harmison (partner Julie), Quintin Harmison (Hope); Great Nieces and Nephews, Austin, Nathan, Hannah, Abigail, Brian, Jordan, Lily, Maggie; Great-great Nieces and Nephew, McKenna, Kenzley and Easton. Also by his friends in his social “gang” that he has known for many years and loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Richard Socks.

Henry will be remembered for his love of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, his collection of many Books and DVDs, his beautiful handmade Needlepoint items, his Christopher Radko ornaments and in being a history buff with his collection of Presidential mementos.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 14th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742. The family will be accepting flowers for the visitation, or in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Henry Sines can be made to Maryland Symphony Orchestra at this link:

A private burial service in the Rest Haven Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
