Jack Durward Casto, 96, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Meritus Medical Center.
Born in Flatwoods, W.Va., Jack was the son of the late Frantz Laylin and Audrey Mae (Kelly) Casto. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Anna (Guidi) Casto; seven siblings—Carl, Edward, Roger, Gerald, Dorothy, Irene, and Betty—and his daughter-in-law, Lisa Casto.
Jack proudly served his country as a Special Agent in the U.S. Army and later as a Supervisory Investigator for the Federal Civil Service. His dedication and integrity were hallmarks of his long career.
A man of faith, Jack was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hagerstown.
He enjoyed bowling and was an avid sports fan, cheering passionately for the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens.Jack’s greatest joy was his family.
He is survived by his four children: Anthony Casto and wife Kimberley, Tammy Ann Casto, Lisa Swann, and Teresa “Sissy” Spittle; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Casto and wife Darlene, and Marlin Casto; and sister-in-law Myrtle Casto.
Friends will be received on Sunday, November 23, from 2–4 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 224 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, with Rev. Fr. James Boric as celebrant.
Jack will be remembered for his unwavering love, strength, and devotion to family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
