James Eugene Gosma, 91, of Annapolis, MD, passed away Wednesday, October 19th, at The Annapolitan.

Born in Flint, Michigan on January 7, 1931, a son of the late Florence Elizabeth (Albert)  and George Eugene Gosma.

He graduated high school from Sacred Heart Academy in Mt. Pleasant, MI.

James served in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer Aviation Store Keeper.

He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW, Order of the Moose, FRA and North Landing Hunt Club, additionally he enjoyed his Catholic faith, fishing, hunting, bowling, jigsaw puzzles, and gardening.

His surviviors are Steven Patterson and wife Patty of Falling Waters, WV. and Russell Patterson of Hagerstown, brothers; David Gosma and wife Barb of Norton Shores, MI and Rev. Robert Gosma of Dousman, WI, a sister Marcia Goggin of Henderson, NV, stepdaughters Annette Taylor of Annapolis, MD and Denise Murden of Virginia Beach, VA a stepson Michael Gower of Luck, WI.

Preceding him in death were his first wife Betty Lee Gosma, second wife Louise Gower Gosma stepchildren Jim Patterson, Nancy Miller and Frankie Patterson.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Celebrated at 10;00 AM on the October 26th, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 17630 Virginia Avenue Hagerstown, MD 21740 with Father John Jicha as celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday from 6 - 8 PM where the Rosary will be  recited at 7:30 PM at Rest Haven Funeral Home 1601 Pennsylvania Ave Hagerstown, MD 21742
