James Edward May, 81, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away June 23,2025.Born June 1, 1944, in Boonsboro, MD, he was the son of the late Charles and Evelyn May.

Jim was a 1962 graduate of Boonsboro High School and served in the United States Air Force.

He co-owned and operated CBM Systems in Hagerstown, MD and The Video Gallery, Smithsburg, MD, and May's Video Gallery in Waynesboro and Mont Alto, PA.

Jim enjoyed woodworking, flying remote-controlled airplanes, antique cars, spending time with his family, and ALWAYS lending a helping hand to others.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Brenda Joyce (Hurd) May; daughter, Karen Lynn Bingaman, son-in-law, Nathan Bingaman, granddaughter, Hannah Madison Bingaman, daughter Cheryl Stahl, son-in-law Mark Stahl, grandson, Dylan Griffin, and great-granddaughters, Emberly, Ava, and Brinleigh Griffin, and sister Melinda May.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles (Fred) May Robert May, and Clyde (Dick) May.

Services will be held at 10:00am on July 2, 2025, at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland. Graveside services will be at 11:00am at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park,17636 West Washington St. Hagerstown, Maryland 21740 with military honors.

 Visitation will be Tuesday, July 1,2025 from 6:00-8:00pm at Rest Haven Funeral Home.
