James Robert Rummel

James Robert Rummel, loving husband and father, 76, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on October 12, 2023. 

Born on October 29, 1946 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Mary and James Rummel. Jim served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966-1969 during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he worked for G.E. for 15 years as a top salesman. He also worked for Maryland Correctional Institute for 16 years before his retirement. 

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Jean May.
Jim has left behind his loving wife Catherine Rummel and two daughters, Beverly Butts and Jennifer Roof; two brothers, Robert Rummel and wife Gloria and Ed Rummel and wife Linda; one sister, Twila Lambert; and four grandchildren, Joshub Butts, Kayla Roof, TJ Roof and Danielle Roof.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday October 18, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue., Hagerstown, MD. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
