Janet Lorraine Poffenberger

Janet Lorraine Poffenberger, 73, of Hagerstown, passed from this life, Sunday, December 19, 2021, at her home with her daughter by her side.
Born May 12, 1948, in Clear Spring, Md., she was the daughter of the late, Woodrow Wilson and Ruth Louise (Mills) Henson. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband, Howard W. Poffenberger, Jr. and two brothers, Theodore "Ted" Henson and Edward Henson.
Mrs. Poffenberger retired as a manager-foreman for Green Concrete Works, Hagerstown and previously had worked for Dorbee Manufacturing,Hagerstown, she was also owner and operator of Dave's Place, Boonsboro and Dave's Grocery and Deli, Hagerstown, later employed by Dollar General, Hagerstown and she was a caregiver in private homes.
She was Protestant by faith having attended Pentecostal churches in Hagerstown.
Mrs. Poffenberger is survived by one daughter, Alison R. Gaylor (Charlie); five siblings, Woodrow W. "Bud" Henson (Doris), Donna K. McIntire (Charlie), Fannie I. Shinham (Dave), Virginia L. Yeakle (Ray) and Cindy L. Wilkinson (Mike); three grandchildren, Alexis (Jon), Dallas (Brad) and Brittany; four great grandchildren, Brayden, Travis, Waylon and Lyle; two sisters in law, Patricia Henson and Betty Henson; several nieces and nephews and her beloved pet beagle, Peanut.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
