Jean Tulloch Unger

Jean T. Unger, 81, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away at her home on Friday, July 5, 2024. Born on December 7, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Tulloch and Francis (Heine) Tulloch. 

Jean was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Funkstown, MD, where she sang in the choir and played bells in the bell choir. She was also a member of Post 211 American Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary of Funkstown, MD, and Eastern Star, Chapter 89 of Hagerstown, MD. Jean was a well-read woman who loved academia; she took higher education courses at various colleges and earned an associate’s degree. Some hobbies of hers included sewing, traveling, baking, playing the piano and organ, and reading. 

Jean is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, David Unger; children, Erica Unger, David Unger II (Arlene), and Clay Unger (Susan); brother, John Tulloch; sister, Fran Hastings (Richard); grandchildren, Kyle, John, Matthew, Anna, Alexis, and Zach; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Darrell Layman will be held on Tuesday, July 9 at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation one hour prior at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD. A graveside service will follow.
