John Kenneth Young

John Kenneth Young, 74, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away, Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home, Boonsboro, Md.

Born April 5, 1948, in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, John Willett and Edna Blanch (Campbell) Young. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jane (Young) Shipley and infant triplet, Brenda May Young.

Mr. Young had worked in sales for Melart Jewelry for many years and then for Baley, Banks and Bittle in White Flint until it closed and he retired. He enjoyed being around people and helping them get to anywhere they needed as well as befriending those in the community. He had a memory that was amazing. In his spare time he loved partaking in his favorite hobby which consisted of him being incredibly knowledgeable in determining the value of jewelry.

Mr. Young is survived by two siblings, Ernest E. Young and wife Mary and Linda L. Lewis and husband, Nelson and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 5, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.

Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
