Juanita Jacobs

Hagerstown- Juanita Jacobs born in Dunn, N.C. on October 9, 1936 to Dora Marshall & Otis White.  She passed away at 86yrs old, peacefully at home on February 22, 2023 after a short illness. 

By her late teens she moved to Norfolk, Va., where she had 6 children, married her first husband Paul Whitfield and worked at St Mary’s Infant home in housekeeping. It was in the late 60’s when she decided to move her family to Corona Queens, NY where she had 2 more children and worked as a homemaker/caregiver for many years. In 2005 she made her final move to Hagerstown, MD as a retiree, where she later married her longtime companion Alvin Jacobs.

Juanita was preceded in death by her 5 siblings, 5 children, 4 grandchildren and late husband Alvin Jacobs. She is survived by her daughters Sonya Buckles, Judy Johnson & son John Whitfield; Grandchildren:, Ijhanae Whitfield, Jermaine White, Michael White, Maurice Lundy, Cindy Walker Juanita Fennell, Shantae Nelson, Johnell Whitfield, LaMeeka White, Akim McGirth, Ramel White; 13 great grandchildren a host of nieces/nephews, extended family and friends. 

Family and friends will hold a private memorial in Hagerstown on March 18, 2023.
