Julia Patricia McMurtrie

Julia "Pat" McMurtrie, 89, of Hagerstown, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020, at Doey's House in Hagerstown, MD.
She was born on May 13, 1931 to the late Grover and Kitty Weaver Myers.
Pat was a 1949 graduate of Warfordsburg High School in Pennsylvania. She was a member of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church in Hancock, MD. Pat worked at Harper & Row/J.B. Lippincott where she retired. She also was a Hospice Volunteer and caregiver for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Goldie Truax, her brother, James Myers, and a very special friend Edward "Ned" Whyte.
Pat is survived by her children, Julie Poffenberger and husband Jeff, Jim McMurtrie and wife Kristi; grandchildren, Jesse Rohrer and wife Liz, Hope McMurtrie, C.J. MucMurtrie and fiancé Jessica, Michelle Rock and husband Robb, Brad Poffenberger and wife Sherry; and her great grandchildren.
Pat was known best for her infectious smile, her listening ear, and her caring, motherly ways.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Meritus Medical Center, Williamsport Rehabilitation Center Staff, and especially the nurses and aides of Hospice of Washinton COunty and the staff at Doey's House.
Pat will be laid to rest at Rest Haven Cemetery with a private graveside service at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
