Lanny Shipley, 79, of Charles Town, WV, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 after a short illness.
Lanny was born in Winchester, VA, and made a home with his family in various places throughout the country including Wisconsin, New Jersey, and California.
He was a husband, father, brother, cousin, uncle and college teacher. He was a past trustee of John Wesley United Methodist Church.
Lanny graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1960. He received a BS from Johns Hopkins University, a BS from Carnegie Mellon University, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Business, Northwestern.
His professional life took many turns in engineering, marketing, business management and college teaching.
His life was marked by curiosity, intelligence, and faith in God. He loved reading, gardening, cooking and aviation.
He is survived by his wife Margie, daughter Stephanie (David), son Scott, brother Jerry, four cousins, and four nieces and nephews.
