Larraine Isabell Shepherd

Larraine Isabell Shepherd, 102, of Hagerstown, went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2024. Born November 21, 1921, she was the daughter of Victor Albertus and Bessie Albertha Schuyler Souders.

She was the oldest member of the Hagerstown Bible Church, having attended services there starting at age four. As a member, she was a past Deaconess and a member of the “Mothers and Others”, and “Young at Heart” groups.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Grover Linwood Shepherd; three sisters, Ethel L. Moore, Dorothy M. Souders, and Naomi L. Ensminger; and three brothers, Paul A. Souders, Earl L. Souders, and Calvin A. Souders.

She is survived by one son, Terry Linwood Shepherd and wife Diana; a granddaughter, Stephanie Shepherd Ragland; a special niece, Carol Ann Wagman, and numerous other family members.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 1:00 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hagerstown Bible Church, 203 Summit Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
