Larry Alfred Davis

Larry A. Davis joined this world on August 22, 1950 and departed it on March 16, 2024. He will live on in many people’s memories; especially his wife and bestfriend Yvonne Davis, his children Deandra Roache’, Derrick Davis, Jacinta Northington, his grandchildren Derrick Davis Jr., Zoe Davis, Jordan Davis, Aliyah Davis, his great granddaughter Kaomi Saint Robinson, and his step-daughter Adriana Irizarry.

Larry was an exceptional man who was always willing to help anyone in need. He built a career as an electrician but did not limit himself to just this. He was a student of life who willingly shared his knowledge with anyone who wanted to learn. This played into all aspects of his life whether it was playing chess, listening to music, or reading yet another book.

Larry would entertain anyone who would listen, with stories of his upbringing and his own personal life experiences. If you took the time to listen, he could always make you laugh no matter what you were going through in the moment. Larry would tell you if it is a happy one enjoy it and if the moment wasn’t he would remind you it is just a moment therefore it too will pass. Anyone, who knew him, knew how he felt about life and the joy it truly is. He did not fear death, in this life, because he knew it was not the end.

I humbly ask you do not weep for Larry because he would not want you to. He believed life and death as a unity inseparable for humans to experience the from nature back to the natural cycle. The significance of death for him is the process towards life in a different dimension.

When you remember Larry do so with great happiness in your heart because he would want it for you. Remember him with a smile on your face and how he would only want the best for each of you. Take him and his memory with you as you continue your journey in this realm and remember he will be waiting to greet you with a smile as you arrive in your next journey. As Larry himself would say, “do not take any wooden nickels,” along your odyssey and don’t forget that, “whenever you go, there you are.”
