With a heavy heart I must announce the passing of my beloved daughter, Laura R. “Sissy” Grams into the loving arms of her heavenly father and savior on September 11, 1023.

Born on August 29, 1973, in Washington County, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Charles W. Grams and Nacy M. Longanecker Grams Ryder.

She passed away at Martinsburg Medical Center under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle after a short illness.

Born with Cerebral Pasly, Laura attended Marshall Street in Hagerstown, Maryland until she was 17 at which time she moved to Martinsburg WV. In Martinsburg she attended East Ridge Health System, she then became a client of Daily Companion Inc.

She resided with her mother and beloved stepfather, now deceased Robert L. Ryder till July of 2010 when she moved into an apartment with a roommate, her friend Lynn Painter, ran by Daily Companion.

Preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Floyd E. Longanecker and her maternal grandmother Zada Straley Longanecker and her fraternal grandfather Authur E. Grams and her fraternal grandmother Sue Chaney. One aunt Sue Ellen Metzger, two uncles, Floyd A Longanecker and Curtis J. Longaneck.

Truly seen as an angel here on earth by everyone she came in contact with, it was an honor to be chosen by God to raise this special child and we will all miss her smiling face. She is survived by her mother Nancy Longanecker Grams Ryder and her brother Mark E. Grams and wife Crystal of Folkston, GA. Beloved stepsister Cathy Decker and husband Ren of Yuma, Arizona; stepbrother Randy Ryder of New Mexico, stepsister Sandy Rice of PA; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and loving friend of the family Bruce W. Morgan.

Services will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 11am at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD. Friends will be welcome to arrive one hour prior. Friends will also be received on Thursday, September 14. 2023 at the funeral home from 7-9pm. Pastor J.R. Barnes of the Way Christian Church. Interment will follow services in Rest Haven Cemetery.
