Laurel “Glenn” Dunn, a man of steadfast dedication and unwavering commitment, peacefully passed away on May 4, 2024, at the Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 85 years old. Born on February 13, 1939, Glenn was the beloved son of the late Albert Sheridan Dunn and Effie Jane (Sisson) Dunn.

 

 In addition to his parent, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Linda Anne (Reedy) Dunn, siblings; Jean Ballard, Mary Collins, Betty Fisher, Wanda Whynacht, Caroline Hahnet, Albert Dunn, and David (Joey) Dunn.

 

Glenn and Linda’s marriage of over 42 years was a union of deep love and companionship. Together, they raised a beautiful family and shared countless cherished memories.

 

 Glenn is survived by his children, Randall Glen Dunn, and wife Pam, Deborah Anne Forcino, and husband David, who were his pride and joy. His grandchildren, Dallas, Lauren, Matthew, Brittany, Jacqueline, Leslie, and Tracy were blessed to have him as a role model and mentor. Glenn's legacy extends to his great-grandchildren; Joseph, Nicholas, Aiden, Oliver, and Noah, who will carry his memory forward with love and admiration.

Glenn's passing leaves a void in the hearts of his surviving siblings, Kenneth Dunn, and wife Avonell, Dallas Dunn, and wife Judy, Sharon Rubin, and husband Howard, Barbara Hunt, and husband Gary.

 

Glenn's life journey was marked by integrity, resilience, and service. He began his professional career at Pangborn Corporation, where he dedicated 35 years of his life, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and loyalty. Prior to his civilian career, Glenn honorably served his country as a Military Police Officer in the US Army achieving the rank of E-4 Specialist. He was drafted in 1962 and earned several accommodations including the Marksman badge, Good Conduct Medal, and Sharpshooter badge. 

Glenn's impact reached far beyond his professional and military endeavors. He was an active member of his community, dedicating his time to organizations which included the Little Club, American Legion, and the Lonesome Pine Lodge. Glenn's passion for basketball was evident from a young age, and his talent on the court earned him admiration and respect. He was proud to be a part of the inaugural graduating class for North Gallia High School. His prowess in basketball earned him accolades that remain a testament to his skill and determination. His high school trophies remained displayed and many of his records unbeaten prior to the school’s closing in 1992. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Baltimore Ravens fan. 

 

Glenn Dunn will be remembered for his kindness, his unwavering strength, and his dedication to those he loved. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will continue to inspire. As we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the profound impact he had on the lives of those around him and the enduring legacy he leaves behind.

The viewing will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024, from 6-8 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue., Hagerstown, MD. Graveside service will take place on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 11 AM at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park 17636 W Washington St, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
