Margie Lee Johnson

Margie Lee (Evans) Johnson, 93, of Hagerstown, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Ravenwood Lutheran Villiage.
Born August 25, 1926, in Wilson, NC, she was the daughter of the late Eddie and Minnie (Tedder) Evans.
Margie retired as an administrative assistant for the United States Government.
She was a member of Faith Temple in Cearfoss, Maryland.
Margie enjoyed singing hymns, especially on Friday evenings with her friends at the Francis Murphy Apartments. She loved shopping with her girlfriends and eating food. Most important to her was her family!
She is survived by her son, Steven L. Johnson and wife Terri of Hagerstown; her daughter, Kathy Burdette and husband Stephen of Blue Ridge Summit; two brothers, Roland Evans of Wilson, NC., Rudolph Evans of Selma, NC; three grandchildren, William Burdette and wife Mandy, Russell Burdette,Mellissa Ambrose and husband Nathan; three great-grandchildren, Dustin Burdette, Maddison Ambrose, Bailey Ambrose; two great-granddaughters who haven't arrived yet, Amelia and Abigail Ambrose; friends, Ardella Giffin and Darlene Swales, Betty Shank, Lavern Weller, Helen Churchy all of the Francis Murphy Apts and Allen Yoder of the Hagerstown Nazarene Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Luther Johnson; five sisters; and two brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Ronald Lynch officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
She will be laid to rest beside of her husband in Rest Haven Cemetery, following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made in Margie's name to the Washington County Commission on Aging, Meals on Wheels, 535 E Franklin St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
