Mary Jane was a Proverbs 31 woman.  She supported her evangelist and pastor husband in ministry for many years as they served churches in the east and midwest. She put two of her brothers through Bible school working as a “Rosie the Riveter” on airplanes during WWII.  She worked hard, diligently & skillfully with her hands, holding jobs as a housekeeper, food preparer, seamstress, factory worker & custodian. She owned businesses as a dog breeder and arts and crafts entrepreneur, creating beautiful décor out of recycled feedsacks and upcycled fabric with her business “Mary Jane’s Attic”.  She was a decorator who could envision & create beauty out of whatever she held in her hands, and her green thumb made every space she touched bloom with color. She was little but mighty, fighting her way back to health even after two cancer diagnoses.  She loved traveling to coastal Florida’s warmth as well as sitting on her swing enjoying her beloved Pennsylvania mountains. She was deeply loved by her family who will miss her so much.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 12 pm at New Life Christian Church, 12031 Hopewell Road, Hagerstown. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
