Mary Jeanneine Humelsine, 82, of Boonsboro, Md., passed away, Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Fahrney Keedy Senior Living, Boonsboro.

Born June 17, 1941 in Hagerstown she was the daughter of the late, Eugene Christian and Mary Elizabeth (Moats) Henninger.In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey T. Humelsine; two sisters, Ruth and Betty Strite.

Mrs. Humelsine was a 1959 graduate of Boonsboro High School.

She was a member of Mt. Briar Church of God, Keedysville, Md.

In addition to being a homemaker Mrs. Humelsine also was a hairdresser having worked for Romas Beauty Salon and the Cut and Curl, both of Hagerstown.

Mrs. Humelsine is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Terry Ragan Humelsine; two children, Kelly Ellis (Ted) and Wm. Jason Humelsine (Stacey); three grandchildren, Joshua Humelsine (Amanda), Aaron Humelsine (Ari) and Katherine Ellis; two great grandchildren, Jackson R. Humelsine and Scarlett J. Humelsine; one brother, Melvin Strite; two sisters, Pearl Strite and Harriet Downin her life-long best friend.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at   2:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with pastor Anthony Pomfrey  officiating.

Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. 

Mary was a kind soul who shared her cheerful demeanor with all she met resulting in many good friends whom she cherished.. She was especially grateful for her friends at Farhney-Keedy during her residency there. They made a difficult transition pleasant. The family is also extremely grateful for the kindness and care shown to her by all the staff at Farhney-Keedy.
