Mary Elizabeth Reid

Mary Elizabeth Reid, 98, of Maugansville, Md., passed away under hospice care on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Creekside Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Hagerstown, Md.

Born October 6, 1924 in Ohio and raised in Johnstown, Pa. she was the daughter of the late, Jerry and Rose Mae (Gorman) Conrad. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Orie Reid, who passed away in September of 1990; one granddaughter, Marian Starliper; one great-grandson, Brooks Reid and her brother, Thomas Block.

Mrs. Reid was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church; she was a past president of TOPS and along with her daughter she was active in Victims Rights, all of Hagerstown.

She retired as a cook for Avalon Manor and previously had worked as a Rosie the Riveter for Fairchild, a seamstress for London Fog and as a secretary for Reid's Elevator.

Mrs. Reid is survived by three children, Gerald O. "Jerry" Reid and wife Dianne, Sue A. Kline and husband, Gary and Gary A. Reid and wife, Cindy; two grandchildren, Joshua Reid and Sondra Reid; three great grandchildren, Tenley Reid, Paige Reid and Coleson Reid and one sister, Carol Ronzo.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Fr. John Jicha officiating.

Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday one hour prior to the service.
