Mirna Judith Carranza Marcos, de 60 años, de Gaithersburg, Maryland, falleció el 18 de enero de 2024, después de una larga batalla contra el cáncer cerebral.
Mirna nació el 24 de enero de 1963 en Puerto Barrios, Guatemala. Se graduó de la Escuela Secundaria Luis Pasteur antes de venir a los Estados Unidos. Residió en los EE. UU. durante 41 años y trabajó como técnico especialista en registros en Zimmerman Associates Inc. para la Administración de Alimentos y Medicamentos. Se jubiló anticipadamente para centrarse en su salud. Le gustaba cocinar y plantar en su jardín pero, sobre todo, le encantaba pasar tiempo con su nieto Mateo.
Muy amada, le sobreviven su madre, Elena Carranza, su hija, Vanessa Carranza Espinoza y su esposo Frank, su hermano, Mario Carranza, sus hermanas, Marisol Carranza, Blanca Carranza, Marylu Carranza y Aida Carias. En su muerte le precedieron su tía, su padre, Rutilio Carranza Méndez y su abuela.
La familia recibirá amigos de 9 a 11 a. m. el sábado 3 de febrero de 2024 en Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland, 21742. El servicio comenzará a las 11 horas.Seguirá el entierro en el cementerio Rest Haven.

Mirna Judith Carranza Marcos, 60, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, passed away on January 18, 2024, after an extended battle with brain cancer.
Mirna was born on January 24, 1963, in Puerto Barrios, Guatemala. She graduated from Luis Pasteur High School before coming to the United States. She resided in the US for 41 years and worked as a Records Technician Specialist at Zimmerman Associates Inc. for the Food and Drug Administration. She took an early retirement to focus on her health. She enjoyed cooking and planting in her garden but most of all she loved spending time with her grandson Mateo.
Dearly loved she is survived by her mother, Elena Carranza, daughter, Vanessa Carranza Espinoza and husband Frank, brother, Mario Carranza, sisters, Marisol Carranza, Blanca Carranza, Marylu Carranza and Aida Carias. In death she was preceded by her aunt, father, Rutilio Carranza Mendez and her grandmother.
The family will receive friends from 9-11am on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland, 21742. The service will begin at 11am. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
