Patrick Perry Dayley, Sr.

Patrick Perry Dayley Sr., 56, of Clear Spring, passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.
Born Aug. 24, 1954, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Carl W. and Elizabeth E. (Lambert) Dayley.
He was a 1972 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.
Patrick worked as a supervisor at Grove Crane for 25 years and at Manitowoc Crane as a welding robot operator for the past six years.
He was a member of The Improved Order of Red Men Tribe 84 and the Creek Road Fishing Club.
Patrick was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and was an avid fisher and hunter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Brenda Lee (Ommert) Dayley; a son, Carl W. Dayley II, stationed in Seoul, South Korea, in the U.S. Army; four sisters, Helen JoAnn Nutter of Hagerstown, Tawanna "Tonja" M. Baker of Wachapreague, Va., Sherry A. Meckes of Walnutport, Pa., and Dana K. Dayley of Hagerstown; three brothers, Frank E. Nutter of Hagerstown, Donald L. Nutter of Boonsboro and Gary G. Nutter of Big Cove Tannery, Pa.; numerous nieces and nephews; close friends, Ben Culbertson, Bob Drenning, Ernie Angle and many others; and his dog, Mick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Patrick P. Dayley Jr., who passed away in 2001; and by John Fogelsonger, a close friend and mentor.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Tim Lester officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
