Patsy Lorraine Reeder

June 27, 1940 — February 3, 2021

Patsy Lorraine Abbott Reeder, 80, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on February 3, 2021 at Meritus Hospital. She was born to parents George W. Abbott and Clara V. Butts Abbott, on June 27, 1940 in Hagerstown, Maryland. She graduated from Boonsboro Senior High School in 1958.

In her lifetime, Mom worked as a Loving Wife, Devoted Mother, Home Maker and Personal Care Taker to many. In her early working career, she worked for Washington County Hospital, Reeder's Nursing Home, Avalon Manor, Home Call and a Private
Duty nursing agency, all in the capacity of a Nurse's Aide, Companion or Care Taker.

Mom loved many things, people and places and often spoke about the past. She always had stories about Nascar races she attended, trips to Walt Disney World, Softball games at High School, family holiday gatherings and various other trips and times spent with my father and her Siblings. During the 1960’s Mom and Dad were involved with two local race cars “ Red Cloud” and “Duster” both cars were raced at Mason Dixon
Dragway and various other tracks with their racing partners Larry Mohar and Josephine and friends Louise and Harry Huntzberry. Above all things, and those that knew her best. Mom loved to talk about her family, her siblings, their grand kids, and her nieces
and nephews. Even though she had no grandchildren of her own, she adopted many of her siblings grand kids. Family was the thing that meant most to her; her life with Daddy, and the proud accomplishments of her own children.

Patsy met Gerald L. Reeder Sr. in 1956. They were married on April 5, 1956 in MT. Briar, Maryland . Together they raised three children: Jeffery L. Reeder, Timothy L. Reeder,Gerald L. Reeder Jr.

Patsy is survived by her sons, Timothy L. Reeder and Husband James of Fort Myers, Florida, Gerald L. Reeder Jr and his Wife Lori of South Carolina; two sisters, Martha L. Jones of Boonsboro and Faye L Breeden of Hagerstown; and Brother Eddie C Abbott of Hagerstown. In addition to her parents and husband she was proceeded in
death by her Son Jeffery L. Reeder; her Sister Marjorie; and six brothers- Garland, Leon, George, Homer, Gerald and Gene.
