Percival Robert King
Percival Robert King, 91, of Keedysville, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at his home.
Born July 6, 1922, in Swain County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Veria Boscom and Sera Josephene (Hester) King.
He was a veteran of the US Army during in WWII and received a silver star.
Percival had worked as a welder for Fairchild Aircraft and a maintenance worker for Antietam National Battlefield in Sharpsburg. He was also a farmer.
He appreciated the outdoors and enjoyed farming, working with flowers and traveling.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Sarah Elizabeth King ; an infant daughter, Mary Jane King; seven brothers, Sam, Weaver, Hill, Joel, Junior, J.C. Frank; and four sisters, Ethel, Alice, Bonnie, and Roberta.
Percival is survived by two sons, David R. King and wife Susan of Keedysville, Ronnie L. Hull of Hagerstown; and a sister, Lucille of Towson.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 7, 2013 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Paul Clemmer and Pastor Roger Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery with military honors.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
