Phyllis M. Sturtz

Phyllis M. (Bennett) Sturtz, 88, of Williamsport, MD, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Born on April 19, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Vernon Bennett and Viola (Hollada) Bennett.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Elvin J. Sturtz; brothers, Kenneth Bennett, and Dean Bennett; and sisters Rheda Reese, Wanda Seymour, and Brenda Rock.

As a woman of Christian faith, Phyllis was an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Hagerstown, MD, where she was the president of the Altar Guild, a member of the choir with her husband, and a member of the stewardship and finance committee. Phyllis was a chairman for The Red Cross. She was a bank teller at First National Bank for many years. In 1982 she managed The Turnover Shop, a consignment store. Most of all, she was a loving mother and wife.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Kim Ridenour; stepson, Steven T. Sturtz; brothers, Ormy Bennett, and Rick Bennett; sisters, Verona (Noni) Marconi, and Deola Forcino; and many nieces and nephews.
