Robert Ellyson Stransky

Robert Ellyson Stransky, 91, of Sharpsburg, MD, passed away peacefully Monday, August 8, 2022 at his home, surrounded by loving family.
Born on April 13, 1931 in Falls Church, VA, he was the son of the late Ora E. (Compton) and Vincent G. Stransky, Sr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Loretta May Stransky; and his brother, Vincent G. Stransky, Jr.
Robert served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Robert worked as a pipe coverer in construction until his retirement. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and traveling, which he did at his hunting camp in West Virginia for 56 years.
He is survived by two sons; Vincent C. Stransky and wife Kimberly of Falling Waters, WV, and Mark E. Stransky and wife Lena of Sacramento, CA; Grandchildren, Emily M. Stransky, Zach Stransky and Max Stransky; Sisters, Lillian Bohannon and Evelyn Kaczmar; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Buddy.
A funeral service will be held Monday, August 15, 2022 at 2 PM at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor James Gross officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Family will receive friends one hour prior.
