Ronald Leroy Heiston, Jr.

Ronald Leroy Heiston, Jr., 58, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023. 

Born April 8, 1964, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of Ronald L. Heiston, Sr. and the late Nancy C. (Murray) Heiston. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Junior Heiston, Virginia Small, John Murray, Evelyn Keyfauver, and step-grandmother, Ethel Heiston.

He was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School and attended Hagerstown Community College. 

For 30 years he was a member of the Teamsters Union.

Ronald was a hard worker who provided for his family as a truck driver for CLI Transport. 

He is remembered as a selfless, family oriented man who loved spending time with his beloved family and friends, and doing anything for them. Ronald loved going to the beach, he visited Myrtle Beach, Outer Banks, and Ocean City. Traveling with his family was a passion of his, they visited Florida, Maine, New Hampshire, New York City, Punta Cana, and Gatlinburg, Tennessee.   

Ronald also had another passion, sports, especially for the Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles. He loved attending sporting events alongside his son, such as baseball, football, and basketball games, wrestling events, and Nascar races.

In addition to his father, Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Lisa Heiston; daughter, Kimberly Heiston and fiancé James; son, Ronald Elliot Heiston; two granddaughters, McKenzie Heiston and Josie Grandstaff; two sisters, Rhonda Higgins and husband Craig, Karen Faith and husband Dale; nephew Garrett Higgins; niece Heather and her daughter, Emma.

A memorial service will be held Monday, March 13, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. James Gross officiating. 

Friends will be received at the funeral home at 10:00 A.M.
