Ruth Arlene Collitt

Ruth  Arlene Collitt, 91, of Greencastle, PA and formerly of Hagerstown, MD, passed peacefully at Leland of Laurel Run after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Born on October 27, 1932 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Margaret Yeates. She was a graduate of Hagerstown High School and went on to work in the banking industry. She married Leon Spessard, whom passed in 1974. She married Dr. Bob Collitt, whom passed in 1983.

Arlene was a lifelong member of Grace Brethren Fellowship. As a pastors wife she was involved in many ministries as a faithful servant of the Lord. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, spending time with her family and was a loyal Orioles fan.

Arlene is survived by her daughter, Cindy Goetz and husband George; stepdaughters Kathie Jordan and Jacque Collitt; grandchildren, Beth Anne Goetz and Matthew Goetz and fiancé Jaci Shears and Julie Reeser; her sister, Evelyn Keller; numerous nieces and nephews.

Additionally she was preceded in death by siblings, Yvonne Yeates, Elizabeth Cline, John Yeates, Lee Yeates.

The family will receive friends from 11-12pm on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Rest Haven Funeral, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742. A funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Pastor Paul Hutchison will officiate. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
