Shirley Lee Cunningham

Shirley Lee Cunningham, age 86, of Maugansville, Maryland, passed away November 1, 2025, at Williamsport Retirement Village, surrounded by family. She was born in 1939, in Bridgeport, Maryland to Percy James Pryor and Thelma Louise (Stouffer) Pryor. She obtained her GED, then pursed a degree from Hagerstown Business College. She was a stay at home mother, until she went to work for Cunningham Plumbing and Heating for 25 years.

She was a member of the Maugansville Ruritan Club, for many years, in which the Ladies Auxiliary members enjoyed many activities, and community service. She traveled the United States with the club members, in which she and her husband had many wonderful memories.

Many years were spent on the Potomac River camping with family. Faith played an important role in Shirley’s life, as she was a member of Broadfording Church and Longmeadow Church of the Brethren for many years. She was an avid book reader and loved movies. Her passion was holiday dinners and Sunday dinners with family.

She is survived by her loving children, daughter Lorraine (Cunningham) Brooks and son Charles “Chuck” Cunningham, Jr. (wife, Mary); her grandchildren, Brandi Johnson, Sebastian Brooks, Cole “Jared” Cunningham (fiancé, Lauryn Unger) and Jacob “Jake” Cunningham; her great- grandchildren: Scarlett and Sterling Brooks; her sister, Sandy Graber (husband, Kenneth); brother-in-law, Greg Cunningham (wife, Candy) and sister-in-law, Brenda Kiser; along with nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Cunningham, Sr., her parents, Percy and Thelma Pryor; in-laws, Charles L. and Helen Cunningham; her brother, Gary Pryor (wife, Jeanne); brother-in-law, Larry Cunningham (Joan), Greg Kiser and sister-in-law, Patsy Carnes.

Services will be held on Friday, November 7th, 2025, at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. Hagerstown, Maryland. Viewing will be from 11 am to 1 pm. Funeral Service will be held at 1pm with burial following at Rest Haven Cemetery.
