Steven Gregory Liles

Steven G. Liles, age 74, of Hagerstown, Maryland passed away August 7, 2025 after a more than twenty-year valiant battle with the disease ALS.


A visitation will be Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 10:00-11:00am at Rest Haven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, Maryland. The funeral service will begin at 11:00am, followed by a graveside service with Scottish and military honors. A reception with the family will be held at the American Legion Hall, 405 Northern Ave, Hagerstown, Maryland after the services.

Steve proudly served in the U.S. Navy for twelve years. He used the skills he learned in the Navy to transition to a technical and collaborative career in telecommunications.

He was a Christian, a member of the Church of Christ. Steve was a gregarious man full of kindness and respect for all people. Everyone who knew him has a great ‘Steve’ story to recall. Steve embraced his heritage as a Scotsman, proud to be a part of Clan Stewart.

For many years he and his wife, Connie actively served and participated in a Scottish Heritage Society.

He was preceded in death by his parents, toddler brother, and infant sister. Steve is survived by the love of his life and wife of fifty years, Connie; special cousin, David and wife Christie Stubbs; best friend David Benke; brother and sister-in-law, Walton and Karen Hinson; brother and sister-in-law, Alex and Teresa Brigham; a niece, nephews, and great-nephews and nieces.

Memorials would be gratefully accepted by the ALS Association at ALS.org, in memory of our beloved, Steve.
