Teresa Lynn Motes

Teresa Lynn Motes, 69, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away, Monday, November 24, 2025, at her home.

Born June 24, 1956, in Washington, D.C. she was the daughter of the late, Joseph James Lorditch, Jr. and Shirley Ann (Tutwiler) Lorditch. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Johnny Ray Motes.

Mrs.Motes loved her afternoon coffee, crocheting, her cats and gardening. She loved her grand babies, she loved her weekend stays with her daughter Nicole. She loved her motorcycles as well as the holidays spent with family and friends.

Mrs. Motes was a 1974 graduate of High Point High School, Beltsville, Md.

She retired from the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, Laurel, Md. where she was a secretary for the Research and Development Department.

Mrs. Motes is survived by two daughters, Nicole M. Motes (Mark) and Tammi L. Hightman; six grandchildren, Haylee, LeAnn, Christopher, Cameron, Casey, and Lucas; four siblings, Joe Lorditch, Michael Lorditch (Bonnie), Jeanine Falise (Jim) and Jim Lorditch (Mindy).
